Pop Up Parade
Pop Up Parade is a series of PVC figures released by Japanese hobby products manufacturer Good Smile Company. Started in 2019, the brand consists of affordable and easy-to-collect PVC figures that come out soon after announcement. Most of these figures are around 17-18cm but there are also L and XL lines where they can be 20 and even 40cm. With characters from all kinds of different anime and games, it's only a matter of time before a Pop Up Parade figurine of your favourite character or waifu comes out! Pop up parade figures are produced widely and quickly. This series of figures has grown into a whole collecite in just a few years. This fast production makes them very nice to collect, because you don't have to wait long for your figure. In general, pop up parade figures are released after about 4 months after announcement at Good smile company.
The first Pop Up Parade figurine was a figurine of Hatsune Miku, it was not very popular compared to the Nendoroids and normal scale figures. Only after a Pop Up Parade was released of Nekopara did fans realise that the price-quality ratio is very good and started looking out for new additions to the series. After that, things went fast and nowadays new ones are added every month.
"Basic" Pop up parade
The standard and most common pop up parade is about 17-18 cm in size, making it a perfect size to put in a cupboard or on a shelf. Their size and relatively low price compared to scale figures, for example, make it easy to collect them, and Good Smile makes them from so many series that there is something for everyone.
Pop Up Parade L
Is the regular 17/18 cm not big enough for you? Then we also have the Pop up parade L-series with figures usually around 23-24 cm. The quality remains the same but the figure is a lot bigger.
Often these are characters that just don't quite fit in the smaller version. Or those that perfectly fit together with another character in the normal pop up parade version like in the series. In addition, this size is perfect, not too big but big enough to stand out in your collection.
Pop Up Parade XL
If even L is not enough there is always the Pop Up Parade XL to help you out? For this you need a lot more space because most of them are almost twice as big as the regular Pop Up Parade, with a height of 40 cm! These figures are not inferior in size and quality to scale figures you see more at this size.
This is ideal for your favourite characters or characters with an intricate design that do not stand out as much in the smaller version.
Pop Up Parade SP
The Special Pop Up Parade series consists of figurines that are about the same size as regular Pop Up Parades, but with just a little more detail. Often, these are characters with a complicated design or popular characters that need just a bit more to stand out. In terms of quality, these figures do not fall far short of the average scale figure and at a nice price.
Pop Up Parade Swacchao
As the latest addition to this series of figures, Good Smile has recently introduced the first 2 Pop up parade Swacchao. These are figures in the same proportions as the standard variant but sitting to be placed either on or along the edge of a shelf or cabinet. These are also highly recommended!
We hope Good Smile Company releases many more of these! Think of it as a noodle stopper figure but one level up in terms of quality. We need more of these!
